Two households can divide the share into approximately 140 lb each, or several households can divide the steaks, chops, bacon, roasts, sausage and ground meats based on what each household prefers.

Freezer recommendations are intentionally liberal. Actual space needed will vary depending on package dimensions, freezer design and how efficiently the meat is arranged.

Every animal and every carcass is naturally different.
The quantities and weight ranges shown above are close estimates based on the typical size and processing yield of the animals used for these shares.
Individual cuts will naturally vary. One beef may produce slightly heavier Ribeyes, T-Bones or roasts while another produces slightly more ground beef. Pork chops, Boston roasts, bacon, sausage and other pork cuts vary in the same way.
We use these weight ranges to give you a realistic picture of what your freezer share will look like while allowing for the natural differences between individual animals.
The beef portion is built to approximately 140 lb, with ground beef adjusted as needed to account for natural differences in steak, roast, brisket, rib and shank weights. The whole-pig portion will also naturally vary based on carcass size and processing yield.
